It's the same scenario at the end of every event - an abundance of abandoned greenery & flowers that had only been enjoyed for a few hours. Cue the begging (we mean strongly encouraging!) of hosts & their guests to take home a centerpiece(s) to enjoy. Once they all decline (I mean we can't twist their arm!) the "ask" turns to the venue & vendor teams. All that is left- and there's always lots left- is headed straight to the dumpster & ultimately the landfill. It's truly heartbreaking.

With that said, we were inspired by the Repeat Roses effort, in NYC, to help bring floral waste to an end: re-purposing & restyling all event floral into smaller arrangements & ultimately finding them appreciative second homes.

We are currently in conversations with local charity groups to partner with us in the restyling, delivery & retrieval (of the vase for re-use & the flowers for composting).

While this endeavor will take a village to execute, we are committed to seeing this effort BLOOM! So if you are connected with any groups (social, church, charity, etc..) who would be interested in partnering with us on BLESSED BLOOMS, please ask them to reach out - the more the merrier!

The Homestead couples can be proud that their event produced zero-waste: all floral & food (via The Posh Affair) was either donated, composted or recycled.

Whether it's through BLESSED BLOOMS or PASS THE PLATE, we hope to be a BLESSING to ALL who we cross paths.

“Don’t just count your blessings. Be the blessing other people count on.”
